    Answers to Reflect and Connect

Allow students time to answer these questions. Once they have had time to complete their responses, you may want to hold a class discussion on some or all of them.

    1. Refer to the process of technology diagram, which you first encountered in the "Doing Technology" chapter.

      1. Which steps in the process did you complete as you designed your product in this Evaluate activity?
      2. Which steps did you not complete?
      3. Write one to two sentences about what you did to complete the steps as you designed your product in this Evaluate activity.

      4. Students should recognize that they identified a problem, came up with ideas to solve the problem, and designed a solution. Because they did not actually develop their product, they did not carry out the solution or evaluate the solution. In some respects, they shared their results through the ad that they wrote, but some of the information was probably based on the assumption that their product would function as intended.

Characteristics would include the size of the product and the materials it is made of.
