For the entire class:

• 1 balance

• 1-1.5 kg of washers, pennies, or other objects of uniform mass

For each team of 3 students:

• 1 tray

• 1 ruler

• 1 large beaker or measuring cup

• 1 sample of each brand of paper towel

• a source of water

• other materials provided by your teacher

• pens or pencils of different colors

• tape or glue
